RETURNS.

LOCAL IMPORTS DOWN.

THROUGH CARGO NORMAL

On Sunday and Monday cargoes for ports beyond the Colony wers exceptionally heavy, but the re- turns for the 24 hours, ended at 9 am yesterday, showed that freights for other ports had returned to normal Local imports also show

There were only 13 rensels arriv. ing here and of these nine steamers discharged here. The total amount of cargo unloaded was 9,904 tous. Three British steamers contributed a total of 560 tons. The best re- turn was shown by a Japanese steamer the Mondeson Maru- from Mike which brought 4,000 tons of coal for this port.

. Through freights, although mani-. fested by only seven retsels, were heavier than local cargo. There were no less than 19,566 tons car- ried. Three British steamers Oc counted for 9,350 tona. The two best returns were shown by the ss. Glenogie and the West Elcajon: The former a British steamer from Shanghai manifested 8,000 tons and the latter, an American vessel, alio from Shanghai, carried 4162 tons.
