RETURNS.

THROUGH CARGOES AGAIN HEAVY.

LOCAL IMPORTS NORMAL.

The returns for the 24 hours ended at 9 a.m. yesterday showed that freights carried for other ports were again, exceptionally heavy, while inward cargo remain- ed normal..

There were 18 arrivals during the period under review, of which, 12 discharged here. The total amount of cargo unloaded was 12,194 tons. Of these, 7705 tons were brought by five British steamers. The two best returns were shown by British vessels. The s... Borneo from Hoi- how carried 2,000 tons and the as. Talthybize brought 9,984 tons from Tacoma and Miike.

When_the_B.I. steamer Hatipara, Capt. E. D. Carruthers, arrived a Singapore last week from Caf. cutta, bound for Australian ports, Eric Muspratt, who stowed him self on board the vessel at Calcutta, was handed over to the Police. It was stated that he is of British nationality and holds a passport issued in London and dated June, 1926.
