U.S.R.C. BEAT HOLDERS IN" B."

FINAL MATCH REQUIRED.

[BY BOLLYWOOD.]

:

Interest in the "B" Division has been intensified by the unexpected | victory of the United Services Re- the Chinese creation, Chub over Recreation Ciul

ore - Saturday. Hitherto the Chinese had had a can- timmons run of success, winning ten ́successive matches in convincing manner and it was generally ex- pected-and 1 had the same feeling

that they would not have much difficulty in beating the United Services in their last match. But the unexpected happened when the. two teams met on the United Ser- vices Recreation Club courts, the Home team winning decisively by 64 gaines to 35.

The victory of the United Services Recreation Club was mainly due.

of the splendid performance Licut, Froven and Graham who

beat the three Chines: pairs and won 27 games in all. Capt. Morris and Lirut. Dale helped materially and also beat all three Chinese pairs. They secured22 games in the That the match was three sets. deservedly won is proved by the fnet that the United Services won seven out of the nine sets. Neither this season or last have the Chinese re- evived such a set back and it is to the great credit of the victors to be able to beat a team whose re- putation and form have been the torror of competing Clubs.

The reverse of the Chinese docs not, however, displace them for the - shield by any means, but it certainly- makes the competition in the "R Division, which is the most interest: ing of the three, much keener. The Chinese have completed their fix- tures and now hend the Table with one match lost. Only two teams can approach them and they are the Indian Recreation Club nad the Club de Reerein, both of whom they have beaten. These two are level

The game between the DragODS and Tigers, both S.C.A.A. teams, was in the nature of an exhibition match. The Dragons are far the better team, and although they their to play were scheduled younger brothers, they sportingly lent a few good players to the Tigers, so as to make the game more interesting.
