At the outcome of its inquiry into the affaire of the Commonwealth Shipping Line the Federal Public Accounts Committee will.recommend to Parliament that the line he dis posed of. The recommendation will probably be qualified by a proviso that the line shall not be sold unleas asatiafactory offer is received. Labour members of the Committee disagree with the recommendation of the majority.

Sir Granville Ryrie, Chairman of the Publio Accounts Committee, during the major portion of the in- quiry, stated that he was not aware of any decision which might have. been arrived at by the Committee as he had severed his connection with it at the time of his appointment as High Commissioner. The question of selling the line had not been die- cussed by the Committee while he WAR & member, but he said if a vote had been taken on this quesion he would certainly have agreed to of the 12th inst. recommend the sale of the line pro- vided an offer was received commen- surate with the value of the line.
