YESTERDAY'S FREIGHT
RETURNS.
THROUGH CARGOES FAIR; INWARD POOR.
ENTRIES ALSO DECREASED.
The returns for the 24 hours ended at 9 am, yesterday showed that only eight vessels bad entered port. Inward freights were very low, but through cargoes were fair,

Out of the eight arrivals, even discharged here. The total mom of freight unloaded was only -2,249 tans of which two British steamers accounted for. 1,213 tons, There were no four figure returns by any of the vessels discharging here. The heaviest amount landed from oue single steamer was 860 tons from the s.s. Ghmogle, from Singapore.
Through freights were manifested, by six steamers, The total tonnage of freights carried was 10,000 tons, with only 4.000 tons on one British
steamer-the

Further details were to hand. yesterday of the trouble which broke put on board the s.s. Kung Funk Cheong on Monday evening. will be remembered that the vessel returned to port at abunt 7.30 p.m. after she had left here about an Thour earlier. The Police signal was hoisted and when the Police launch went alongside, an Indian guard was taken into custody. was also stated that someone o board the nine vessel was thrown overboard by the guard and it was thought that the Indian had run amok..

Local Dredging Operations.
The following Notice to Mariners has been issued by the local autho- rities under dude Fly 50
| is hereby notified for the in- formation of Mosters of all vessels that on and after 15th July, 1927, and until further notice dredging operations will be carried out in the vicinity of Belcher Ridge and Rambler Shoal.
Three timber dolphins marked by red flags by day and red fixed lights by night will be constructed. to the southward of Rambler Shoul and will form a danger to naviga- lian.
Masters of all vessels are warned in proceed dead slow when ap- proaching and passing this area and oust pass well to the north- ward of the most northerly point of Belcher Ridge or to the south- ward of the dolphins aforemention- ed. They are asked particularly to cefrain from attempting to cross
between these dolphins.
This notice in no way cancels that issued on the 27th May, 1927. regarding dredging at Penguin Shoal. Masters of vessels are again cautioned to observe and comply with that warning and to refrain from crossing between the dolphins now created on Penquin Shonis
