Inward cargoes during the 24 hours ended at 9 a.m. on Saturday amounted to a total of 5,421 tons. Of these, only 1,049 ons were dis- charged from five British steamers.

The only four-figure return was shown by the s.s. Toyo Maru No. 1 and (Japanese) from Longkow Dairea, which brought 2,380 tons for local discharge.

Arrivals And Departures. During the period under review, there were 40 arrivals and 34 de partures. The nationalities were: British, 16 arrivals and 12 depar tures; French, 1 arrival; Dutch,.2 arrivals and 1 departure; Nor- wegian, arrivals and & depar tures: Japanese, 10 arrivals and 7 departures; Chinese, 5 arrivals and 4 departures; German, 1 arrival and 3 departures; Italian, 1 arrival and 1 departure.
