pleasing picture.

The Course was in good condition and the various tosses and refusals which took place added a touch of excitement to the meeting.

The "Bookies" had a successful day and a study of the odds they laid and these returned by the pari. mutuel shows up very much in favour of the latter method of back. ing.

?

The arrangements were well nigh perfect thanks to the hardworking Officials of the Meeting.

Mr. A. H. Potts, the acting Clerk of the Course, is going Home on leave in a few days time. He bas pul in a tremendous amount of work in connection with the Steeple. chase meetings and the Fanling Hunt of which he is the acting Master. Those have had the good fortune to be associated: with him and to enjoy the sport for which he was to a great extent responsible will wish him the best of holidays.
