THROUGH CARGOES GOOD. BISECTING THE “TJILEBOET." April 5th, is to be cut into halves
Local importe during the 24 hours anded at 9am. yesterday were bad again down, through cargoes increased considerably on those of the previous day.
There were 4,300 tons of general merchandise landed here. These were brought by eight vessels of which, 1,005 tons were discharged from four British steamers: The best return was shown by the 3.5. Wong Shek Kung which brought 1,500 tons from Saigon.
Through freights amounted to These were carried on 20,766 tons. eight steamers,, with 2,323 tong on five British vessels. The two best returns were 9,500 tons and 8,341 tons.
The former was manifested an the sa Schwaben (German) from Bremen and Singapore, and the lat ter was 5,341 tons on the as Tubu Mars from Kobe and Iloilo.

[BT LONGSHOREMAN.] Foreign Certificates Not Good Enough For Cantonese¦ According to a notice issued by the Canton Customs Authorities dated April 15th, agents of Chinese vessels are hereby notified that in future all Chinese steamers, motor vessels and launches must carry Certificates of Inspection of Hult and Machinery granted by the Navigation Bureau The Authori ties have decided that Certificates granted by Foreign Engineers will hereafter be regarded as invalid.

Macao Sailings. Traffic to Macao over the week- end was very heavy, due to the lacno Race Meeting.
