The death has occurred at Penang of Captain David Athway Scott who for a number of years was in DAILY WATERFRONT NEWS. the service of the Straits Steamship Company. He was 4 native of Scotland and came to the Straits forty years ago. In the early nine ites he brought out the old steamer, Mary Austin, from China, and the Quorra from Sierra Leone. Captain Scott joined the Straits Steamship Company twenty years ago and at the time of his retirement, on ne count of illhealth, three years ago, was the master of the Hobe.
