Although freights imported into the Colony during the 24 hours eaded at 9 a.m. yesterday were far below the average, the returns abow-) ed a better total than the last two days. Through cargoes had declin- ed considerably, as compared with the previous day's returns. The number of arrivals was larger than yesterday.

These steamers brought altogether general cargoes and 4,979 tons of 2,156 deck passengers, 3,284 tons of coal for Hong Kong. They also manifested 10,385 tons of general merchandise for other ports.

The Tallina reported two deaths had taken place during the voyage.

Japanese Cruiser.

The usual salute were exchanged shortly after 1.30 p.m. yesterday when the second class Japanese cruiser Oi came into port from Formosa. Whether she will remain long in this harbour, or proceed to the North was not stated.

It took the s. Sui An fifteen hours to reach Hong Kong from Macao. She arrived here yesterday morning at 7.30 and after two hour's stay, she sailed for Macno in order to keep to her schedule, but unfortunately she had to returned to port after an hour's 'run fading that navigation was impossible.

Harbour Oes Closed For Easter.

The Harbour Office will be closed all day on Friday. The Entrance and Clearance Office will be open from 10 am to noon on Saturday and Monday, and the Junk Office from 11 am to noon on the same days.

Chingas Passengers' Entry. The returns for the 24 hours ended at 9 am yesterday, showed that 1,043 Chinese passengers had entered into the Colony. This is an increase over the last two days' returns most of the passengers wore from Amoy:
