WEEK-END FREIGHT
RETURNS.
LOCAL AND THROUGH CARGOES NORMAL.
HEAVY COAL SHIPMENTS, Cargoca for the Colony, and for other ports were well up to average during the week-end.
Saturday's, Eaturas. Saturday's returns showed, 8,779 tons of general merchandise im ported but only 906 tons were dis charged from one British steamer. The heaviest carrier was the s Salabangka (Dutch) which brought 3,630 tons from Rosterdam and

The two best returns wore 6,211 tons and 4,320 tons. The former Was registered on the Malacca Jam from Yokohama and Moji and the latter on the German vessel Albert Fogler from Yokohama and Shanghai.
Coal.
In addition to the above, there were four shipments of coal landed here The total for Hong Kong was 8,486 tons. There were 'alsa 2,505 tons of coal manifested for porta beyond.
Sunday's Returns.
The returns for the 24 hours ended at 9 am on Sunday, showed that 14,298 tons of general cargo bad been imported into Hong Kong. Of these, 3,885 tons were discharged from five British steamera.
The two best returns were shown by the ss. Bintang (Danish) which brought 3,004 tons from Kohsichang, and 2.060 tons from Balikpapan by the .. Tondari.
Through cargoes totalled, 14,032, tons. Five British steamers were responsible for 9,140 tons. The s Glancus (British) from Singapore Sho was the best contributor. manifested 7,400 tons,
There were 30 arrivals and 37 depetares during the week-end. Lal Singh, ad Indian guard on the sa Tas Lee, has been reported as missing. The vessel is on the Kongmoon ren, and the guard was last seen at 10 p.m. on Thursday when the steamer was nearing Kong moon. He asked perminion to loave his post to go to the lavatory and carried no arms with him That was the last time his officers

Harbour Obstruction. Before Lt-Comdr, G. F. Hole. RN., in the Marine Court on Saturday morning, the owner of a cargo-boat was fined $3 for causing an obstruction in the southern fair way of the harbour.

Shipping Movement.
The R.M.B. Empren of Canade left Yokohama on Friday (April 8th) afternoon, and is due at Van- couver on April 17th.
