WEEK-END FREIGHT

RETURNS.

LOCAL AND .THROUGH FREIGHTS NORMAL

SMALL BRITISH ENTRIES.

The freight returns made by the vessels arriving there during the week end, showed that the amount of general merchandise entering the Colony and carried for porte bo yoad was normal,

There were 24,245 tons of general cargo for Hong Kong and 25,673 tons for other parts.

SATURDAY'S RETURNS. During the 84 hours ended at D a.m. on Saturday there were 32 arrivals, of which a pessels dis- charged here.

The total amount of cargo un- loaded was 18,661 tons. Of these two British steamers contributed 8,07 tona.

The two beat returns were 3.117 tens and 2,000 by the Japanese steamers Tamiura Maru from Moji and Feijun Marus from Cheloo respectively.

SUNDAY'S RETURNS. During the 24 hours ended at 9am. yesterday, local imports were less, through fieights were better than the previous day.

The Colony's imports amounted to 5,181 tons, of which 2,310 tons were carried by two British steam ers. The two best returns were shown by the six, Kaying (British) which brought 1,014 tons from Bangkok, and Swatow, and 724 tons by the Bingo Varu from Nagoya and Moji.

In addition to the general cargo brought into the Colony there were two shipments of rice amounting to: 21,267 bags and 2,200 tons.

Through freights were manifested on eight steamers, none of which Were British, and amounting to

17,000 tons.

The two best returns were 4,083 tons and 4,053 tons. The former was carried by the Gemon Vore which arrived from Osaka and Shanghai and the latter on the Harina Mary from Yokohama and Shanghai.

The following were the eargo' carriers :-

S.S. Teesta (British) from Singa- pore, 1,527 "tons, general for Hong Kong and 1,641 tons for other ports.
