LOCAL IMPORTS STILL DOWN.
THROUGH CARGO NORMAL.
British ateamers were the best contributors to the freights import- ed into the Colony and carried for other ports during the 94 hours ended at 9 a.m. yesterday.
The returns made to the Harbour Office daring the period showed that
the Colony's imports were still down, while through cargoes were normal.
There were 11,947 tons of general cargo brought into Hong Kong. Of these 7,848 toas ware discharged from British steamera. The two best returns were shown by the as Unkai Maru No. 6, from Dairan, and the Indo-China steamer Chip Shing, from Tientsin and Weiha wel. The former vessel brought 3,400 sons and the latter 1.778 tons
Through cargoes, carried by eight steamers out of the eighteen ar- rivals, amounted to 60 cons Five British steamers accounted for 10,732 tons. The two best carriers were the Amur fore, which mani- fested 6,240 tons loaded at Antwerp and Singapore. The Ehyber (Bri- tish) from London and Singapore. was responsible for 4,600 tona.
In addition to general merchan dise, there were also 10,514 tora of rice, 4,501, tons of coal and 1,045
tans of kerosene landed here yester day.
