GOOD FREIGHTS.
Local Imports of general mer chandise during the 24 hours ended at 9 am yesterday were again below the average. Through freights inanifested on the vessels passing through during the same period showed a considerable increase Most of the freights for this port as well as for ports beyond Hong Kong were carried by British
steamers
The Colony's imports amounted to 3,048 tons, of which, 6,453 tona were discharged from two British steamers. The 8.5.
Haldia from Saigon brought 2,300 tons and the
·Takada from Calcutta, Singapore and Shanghai carried 1,808 tons. Both are British ships.
Cargoes for ports beyond Hang Kong were carried by nine vessels, and amounted to 95,154 tona. OF these, 15,060 tons were contributed. by Eve British steamers. The two best returns were shown by the British vessel Patroclus, from Dalny which manifested and Shanghai 5,886 tons, and the Ouderkerk (Dutch), from Bremen and Manila was responsible for 4,920 tons

During the period under review there were arrivals and 12 departures. They were: British, 3 arrivals and departures; Japan- ese, 1 arrival; Norwegian, I de parture; Chinese, 1 arrival and i departure; Dutch, 2 arrivals; American, I arrival and 1 depar ture: Swedish, departures.
