The afternoon looked somewhat 10.44 10.48 disappointing as hounds had by this time run some seven or eight miles and it was nearly five o'clock. A 10.59 start for home was being consider- od when hounds put up a fox and went off in full cry in the direction 11.00 of Montague Ridge. A very fast run of a half hour ensued,. Reynard bding in full view, and kill secm- 11.08 ed certain but he again proved too 11.19 clusive and left hounds baffled after crossing some difficult swamp. After some very hard work it was somewhat dis appointing not to have killed as the run in full view constituted one of the finest the Hunt has had.

Even so, and even though Guest and Ramsay failed, all looked well as Brace and Morris were batting beautifully until the former got over kech and lashed out at an off one, giving cover an easy chance. It was the same shot which cost him his wicket against the 'Civil Service and he should try and forget it. To complete the disaster Morris was out to a really catch by left-handed brilliant Dobbie. Goodwin was down to play, but he had not fielded and nc arrangement had been made, so Lyal, very properly in my opinion, did not bat him though Dobbie raised no objection. As a matter of fact, in a league game, I think that the laws of cricket should be observed as strictly as they are in the County Championship at home, for the reason that the outcome of a match may affect other teams be aides the two immediately concern. ed

The game at Sookunpou between the R.A. and China Athletic will attract a large crowd. The Athletic are confident of securing the points but they will find the Gunners hard to beat on the Garrison ground.

The most interesting game of the week will be on the ground of the HK.F.C. with the Police and Club playing their retarn league game. These teams are old riva and have played many fine sporting games on the Clab ground The visitors will have the advantage in defence and their will be little to choose between the respective at tack.
