RETURNS...

LOCAL IMPORTS STILL DOWN. THROUGH CARGOES 'NORMAL During the 24 hours ended at a.m. yesterday the freight returns made to the Harbour Office by the vessels arriving here showed that the imports of general merchandise rito the Colony were below the average and that through cargoes destined for ports beyond Hong Kong were normal.

The Colony's imparts amounted to 0.805 tons of general cargo, of

dis which, only 000 tons were charged from one British steamer. The two best returns were shown by Norwegian steamers. The as Aronviken from Saigon brought 3,005 tone and the Salviken from Bangkok, 2,300 tons.

Through cargoes totalled 13,069 tons, of which only 400 tons were carried by one British vessel. The German vessel Oldenburg, trom Hamburg and Singapore manifest- ed 7,800 tons and the Indo Mary (Japanese), from Nagoya Moji carried 3,015 tons.
