SATURDAY'S STATEMENT.

Saturday's shipping statement showed an increase in freights as regards Hong- kong cargo; while freight for ports be yond also increased. There was only one more arrival than during the previous twenty-four hours, but the increase in Hongkong cargo was due to two fairly good four-figure returns.

The Khyber, from Japanese ports and the North, arrived on Friday and sailed for Home vid Marseilles on Saturday. She had 27 first class passengers and is second class. She carried about fiity pas- sengers when she left Enogkong, among them being Mr. A. H. "Barlow.

Freight for porta beyond amounted to 21,392 tone with 7,310 tons in British vessels, and 14.29 tons in vessels of other nation- alities. The total freight entered was 27,623 tona.

The tabulated list of arrivals and clearances during the week-end, will be found on page 10. Details of yesterday's Freights, ets., will not be available until to-day.

SHIPPING MOVEMENTS.

The RM.S. Empress of Russia arrived at Shanghai yesterday at 10.30 a.m., and leaves Shanghai to-day at 6 am. She

is due at Hongkong on Wednesday at 9 a.m., and will sail for Manila on the same day at 6 p.m., or as soon thereafter as possible.

The RM8. Empress of Canada, ar. rived at Shanghai yesterday at 10.30 a.m., leaves Shanghai to-day at 10 a.. She is due at Kobe on Wednesday at 1-

The Blue Funnel liner Helenus arriv ed at Marseilles on October 25th,

The Blue Funnel liner Jason arrived at London on October 14th.

The Blue Funnel liner Marvernion ar rived at New York on October 19th.

The motor vessel Javanese Prince, from New York, sailed from Shanghai on October 30th, and is expected to ar rive here on Tuesday, November 2nd, at daylight.

The 8.8. Tilawn (B.I. & Apcar Line), Jeft Singapore for Hongkong on October 29th, and is due here, on Thursday, November 4th, about 7 a.m.

The President Cleveland, of the Dollar Line, siled on Friday for Manila and returns here next Friday. She carried to the Philippines 76, enhin passengers and heavy shipments of freights.

The President Jeferson arrived from Manila with 120 passengers. She bailed for America on Saturday and took 95 passengers from Hongkong. Among the passengers leaving here was Lady Prayoon, who arrived in Ilougkong ear- lier in the week. She is going to Kobe. The Jeferson had 600 tons of freight...

The Empress of Buxaia is due at 9 a.m. on Wednesday from the North with mails from U.S.A., Canada, Japan and Shang- She is expected to have a pretty full complement of passengers and heavy freights. She will pick up passengers and a fair amount of freight from here for Manila, for which port she sails the same day, about five o'clock.

The President frant, of the Admiral Oriental Line, is due from the North. with mails from the same ports, the same day, and will sail for Manila Thursday at 3 pm.
