M. K. Lo, runner-up of the Open Singles in 1891, won his way to the third round by a convincing victory over Ha Ka Lau yesterday in a very fast game. Lo was in good form and played cas of the best Singles games seen so far in this event, and never seemed like losing throughout the match. Playing a sound base line game, he kept his opponent running about the court by good placing and won the first set without the loss of s single game. The second set was well contested and showed Ho Ka Lau some what in form, but he fell off after four all had been called and managed to win He was only one game in the third set. decidedly off colour and loss confidence in himself from the first set when he could not get his forehand drives, into

Green began very well and played a very strong game, using his powerful forehand and backhand drives to advan tage, which heat his younger opponent time and again. He showed marked improvement in his
overhead work.
Akiyama played a very steady gama throughout and worked hard to save Green's balls. At times he challenged Green at baseline driving.
The first two sets were evenly divided and a good struggle took place for the third zet, but playing with confidence Green secured the set at 8-6 by more consistent form and better standard of play. The strain was, however, telling on the older player and with Akiyama able to save Green's shots, the last two sets went to the Japanese.
Major Sterrason gecured a comfortable win over Hung Huai Chen and now meets Tottenham in the third round.
A very interesting doubles handicap was played, off between Capt. West part. nered by Lt. Col.. M. Bates (owe 30) and Dunbar partnered by Lyons (cwe 1/6). The handicapping evened the pairs con- siderably and after a hard struggle the latter paid won by two sets to one.
