"Of the ergo watered for Hongkong, 5,007 tons were carried in British vessels, The largest entry for the period under review was made by a British steamer frem Hangay with 2,950 tons of coal, the next best entry was 1,700 tons of general cargo by another British steamer ; while an American steamer entered 1,440 tons and a Japanese steamer brought 1,300 tons of coal. The remainder of the entries were all under one thousand tons. The fact of the entries for ports beyond being heavier than those for Hongkong was accounted for by reason of a 0,000 tops cutry.
