Before Mr.E. W. Hamilton at the Kowloon Magistrace yesterday Chan Lui Lam, Chinese postman was brought up on two charges: (a) (with baring harboured a 17-year-old girl La Mui, nnd (b) with having taken her away from her home. Mr. D. McCallum was for the defence.
The prosecution stated that on March 20th the girl's mother came to the offices of the Secretary for Chinese Affairs and said that her daughter had disappeared. The matter was reported to the police. who eventually found the girl in house at Sham Shui Po, where, defendant: was staying.
MOTHER'S EVIDENCE
The girl's mother said that her daughter left the house on March 15th and did not return. She did not give her permission to go away with anyone, because her daughter was already, betro thed. She was taken by the police to Sham Shui Po and there found the girl
