THE "OUTTY SARK."

The famous old ten-clipper Unity Burk, sing in Falmouth Harbour, has now been practically re-rigged from a bar quentine into a full rigged ship, carrying a main skysail yard. Her ball has been painted black and her matte white, the yards being black with white tips, Her owner, Copt. Dowman, has consented to the ship being utilised as committee boat at the annual regatta of Fowey, n few miles up Channel. The Cutty Sark is not atted with sails, and will conse quently have to be towed to Fowey. It is understood that Capf. Woodget, a former captain of the famous craft, is coming, to Falmouth to take his old ship. to Fowey Whether the Cutty Sark will ever be put under sail again is doubtful. She is being used as a trading ship for boys for arivice in the mercantile marine.

Early in the New Year the well-known Canadian Paciic liners the Empress of France and the Empress of Sentiird will leave Southampton on voyage around the World auda Mediterranean cruise respcalively. Both vessels are oil burnere. and are supptuously fitted. The world cruise, which will becupy town 137 days, embraces visits to countries allerding tho "greatest amount of interest to the travel. ler, many places off the beaten track will be included as Java, Padang, Sumatra, Batavia, etc, while lengthy stays will be made at Egypt. the Holy Land, Indian, Ceylon, China, Japan, Honolulu, Van- couver, San Francisco, etc. On her way home the Empress of France will make a daylight trip through the Panama Cauni, The Mediterranean cruise by the Emprese of Sentfund will occupy 57 days.
