serve will last for 87 years. The produc tion of 10,000,000 tona a year might not be unworkable from the purely inining point of view, but such a thing would be

commercially unfeasible from the coal sales policy. Taking the 7.500,000 ton plan to be the limit, the Fushun Collieries may be counted upon at least for 190 or 130 years longer.

KOBE AS A SILK PORT. RETURN OF SHK MERCHANTS FROM YOKOHAMA.

The leading ilk merchants who went back to Yokohama last October will returs to Kobe in a body, according to the Kobe Shimban. "They include the Mitsui Bussan Nihon leakwa, Gosho, Yokohama Kilo and other large Japanese concerns, and Messrs.
