The Peninsular and Oriental Steun Navigation Co. have placed with Messrs. Alexander Sephen & Saus, Ltd.. Lint- hudse, an order for a large reciprocating engined passenger steamer. This is the third arthy which the I. & D. Co. have placed on the Clyde recently. The pre- viens two were for vessels of 13.000 tons deadweight and 11.000 ih.p.: and they wwe placed with Messrs. Barclay, Curl & Ltd, Whiteinch, early in Septem ber. There are now five P&O liners' Lee hand on the Clyde, the three above! veferred to and also the two larken bussk yard.
