St. Joseph's Home for the Aged Poor, Kownon-tang-This Home has filled the want for which it was established. At ita inception in. December. 1920, the. So- ciety was fortunato la baring the Sisters of the Cunoasian Institute to take over temporarily the work of the institution pending the arrival of the Little Sisters of the Poor, to whom the Home was trans ferred in Fehrimry of this year. The Council takes this opportunity to record with gratitude the excellent services et dered by the Sisters of the Canossian It stitute. The rules of their Order oblige the Little Sisters of the Poor to beg each. day for the maintenance of their charges, and do not allow them to have any source of fixed income. On taking over the Home the Little Sisters therefore re nounced the fixed monthly allowance which the Society had hitherto provided- for its support. The Society is grateful to the Government for the encouragement which it has extended to the Little Sistera of the Poor. The present. Home is al ready much too small for the accommoda- tion of the aged poor who have been sent or have presented themselves, for dmission, and many have had to be re- fused. A large site near, Kowloon city has, however, heen offered by the Govern ment, and it is hoped that the building f-the-now-Home will be put in hind next year. In the meantime the Society
