Yesterday morning Lam In, a paint scraper, of sutalt delicato appearance and. aged 22 years, was indicted for the mus der of Wan Leung at Shaukiwan West. The 'Attorney-General (the Hon. Mr. Jon-members to the Members Enclosure, II. Kemp, K.C.) conducted the ease for the Crown and Mr. N. T. Brewer defend ed the prisoner.
The Jury empanelled for the case were: Messrs. W. H. Coole (foreman), R. C. Chatterton, E. W. Duggan, E. V. Mde Sousa, E. H. B. O'Farrell, R. M. Smit, and JP. Pereirn.

The Attorney-General said one of the. two principal witnesses for the Crown waso seriously ill in hospital and he would ask permission for this man's evidence to be rend. According to this man's evidence. on the evening of October 2nd he was standing at the bottom of the Lam On Fong lane, in Shaukiwan West, with the decensoil and two frienda when he heard a noise and a thud, and he saw that the deceased: Wan Leung, had fallen to the ground. He also noticed the prisoner strike him with an axe. The prisoner went away toward's Sai Wan Ho. Another witness (Chan Tung) would give cor- roborative evidence. The injured man was found propped up against a wall at the end of the inne by an Indian con- stable. In the compung of Chan Tung the Police Jound the prisoner in boat-Nolders in the above-named Company shed No. 48 and arrested him. The pri- soner afterwards" took the police to shed 34 and pointed out a corner and there the axe (produced in Court) was found.
