Race Week finished up. with a successful and sporting meeting arranged by the Hongkong Boxing Association at the Theatre Royal on Saturday night. There was a large at.endance. Although only two of the bouts went the fuil dis tance, and the four others finished, quite soon, the meeting-though over early was full of interest while it lasted.

The Indians first eleven visited the Club, on Saturday, and were easily de Teated by eight wickets and 135 rúna, þ. "Going in first, the Club batted well and ran up a score of 206 for the loss of two wickets. The side then declared. For the second time this season, E. J. B. Mitchell Beared a century and carried his bat for 106 not out.

He was in great form and gave very few chances. For the most part It was an exhibition of very careful bat Bing. The Indians were sorely tried for: "bowlers and five of their seven bowlers were severely punished. Mitchell's pre- ious century was scored against the Chinese Recreation Club last December, when he made 103 not out.

The Indians were dismissed for, the modest total of 61 runs, only two of the hatsmen reaching double figures- Lum- mert's bowling average was one of the best this season. He took five wickets for aix runs Scores:-

LIGHTWEIGHT CONTEST,

The Erst contest was between Ordinary Sepian Russell (H.M.S. Hawkins), 140 lbs-who took the place of A. B. Eardley (absent with a damaged hand)—and Lending Seaman Sansford (H.M.S. Dur ban), 145 lbs.

The fight was over in the first round; it was hot while it lasted and both men fought practically toe to toe. Sansford,

towards the finish of the first round, took lot of punishment both to bead and body and threw in just before the gong

TEN-ROUND MIDDLEWEIGHT CONTEST.

Ordinary Seamen Lewendon (H.M.S. Harpina), 147, tbs., met A. B. Duncan (H.M.S. Jegnalia), 181 lbs. This bout was over in the second round. It rem ed almost a pity that Lewendon, who is still a comparative novice in respect "of fighting life, should have been asked to give away as much as 14 lbs. He fought pluckily but Duncan's weight inevitably told and Lewendon was down for nine in the second round before he was out.

These three bouts, which were expected to have lasted for an hour, occupied barely twenty minutes.

THE FIGHT OF THE EVENING.

FEATHERWEIGHT CONTEST.

The big fight of the evening was ten round featherweight contest. This proved a glorious set-to and one of the cleanest and fincat seen in the Colony for a long time. It was fought at a rare pace throughout and what is particularly to be remarked is that, in bout of much fierceness, both men broke as cleanly as could te wished and showed themselves in every way splendid sportsmen.
