The Malayon Leader says:- A rather important episode in the his tory of Port Swettenhain occurred re- ectly by the arrival of the largest ship that has visited the Port. A visitor from there informed one of our representatives that this was a vessel of the new Ameircan "State" line of about 18,000 tons. The skip came alongside the pier, a fact of some significance as its draught is re ported to be 34 feet whilst that of EL.M.S. Malayo was 39 and the latter did not venture near the wharves.

The ship visited the Port Klang in order to dis- charge a huge dredge for the Yukon Min- ing Company together with consider- able ether inpchinery-which goes to prove that the lull in the activities of the large American mining concern in our midst is now at an end and that they ara again putting full steamahead.
