COLLISION.

An echo of the collision between the vessels Laertex, and Warpinion, which occurred in these waters in 1917. Was heard in the Supreme Court. at Singa pare last week. The collision led to a good dead of litigation. In one metion
plaintiffs were the owners of the Luertes, together with the master and others and the defendants the owners of the farrimon Mr. Justice Ebden, with two assessors, guro judgment on April 19th, 1919, and ordered that plain- tiffs should recover nothing against the defendants and pronounced in favour of the defendants' counter-claim for diamages, On January 21st 1920, the Court of Appeal gave judgment dismissing Plaintiffs' appen), and defendants' coun- ter claim for damages was referred to the Registrar to be assessed. Damages wero uss:ssed at £13,420 16%, and the certificate was confirmed by Mr. Justice Barrett- Lennard last week.
