Lieut. Col. Nathan Raw, M.D., MP., president of the Tuberculosis Society of Great Britain, in a lecture before the Royal Society of Medicine last month. stated that long-continued research and clinical experiment had convinced him that there were two quite distinct forms of tuberculosis, and that it was possible in his opinion to secure immunity from either disease by a "yaccine prepared from the bacillus of the other. The results of my work on animals con clusively prove that immunity against in fection is produced by the injection of attenuated bacilli, and it is reasonable to suppose that the same thing will hold good in the human. Cattle can be render ed immune to virulent bovine bacilli by previous inoculation with virulent human bacilli, and. I am convinced that there is a marked antagonism in the human body between human and bovine infec- tions, and it is an indisputable fact that these two organismus cannot flourish in the body at the same time.
