SHIPPING NEWS.

Pho ̈uccesful trial trip has taken place of the steel screw steamer Jeypore, built by Messrs. William Gray & Co.. Sunder- land, for the P. &'O. Co. The main dimen- sions of the vessel are: Length 400ft, brendib, soft.. 3in, depth moulded 31ft, with a deadweight carrying capacity of Overį8.000 twas.

From Mesara. Earle's yard the wingle scrow steamer Nauport, has been launched for the P. & O. Co.. The dimensions of the vessel are: Length between prepen diculars 400ft., breadth moulded Baft depth moulded, to upper deck, 31ft. She is to carry approximately 8,150 tons dead. weight on a draught of 25ft., 3in.

The Ellerman and Bucknall Steamship Co., Ltd., is inaugurating a regular monthly service from Montreal to Port Baid, Buda, Aden. Bombay. Colombo,. Singapore, and Java, with the title of the Ellerman and Bucknall, Chonda, Lodia. and Java Service. The first vessel, the "Kaluna, da to load at Montreal in the wond half of next month. A similar service has been planned for the Canadian Government-Merchant Marine, Ltd.
