There has lately been proved one of the quaintest will which has yet passed through the English, Probate Registry. It is written in Hebrow, and is that of Mr. Ezra Josbuah Dwek, a Hebrew mer- chant, trading in Central and Eastern Europe and Asia Minor, and was origin ally sworn before the British Consul at Aleppo in Syria, in May, 1913, but has now recently been proved in London. Wol quote from a translation of the will:--

--fr-the-name-of-God let us do and prosper. This day there came before us the distingujahed gentleman, Ezra Jeshual' Dwek the Cohen, may the Lord preserve him, and said unto us, Know y that at the present time it is my Will and desire to go across the beas for good fife and peace, and that as no mat knoweth how long he lives, behold it is my Will and request to prevent diaputés between my two sons, who are Mr. Farade (may God preserve him) and Mr. Joseph (may God preserve him For this reason you witnesses be my perfect witnesses, and take from me a complete and perfect possession by true and law- ful money, according to the Rabbinic Law, and write for me in all due form, so as to be completely binding according to Rabbinic Law, and seal and deliver into the hands of my said two sons (may God preserve them for life) that it may be evidence of title for the sake of truth and justice

The testator then describes how the estate is to be divided between his two sons, and the will 'concludes:--

All this the aforesaid Mr. Ezra the Coben said to us, and we the witnessen who signed below accented his word, and" we took from his hands, possession com plate and perfect by true and lawful and good money according to Habhinic Law for, all that is mentioned above. More over, he swore a solemn cath, nocording as all they who swear truthfully, to con firm all and to become responsible and to accept full and complete respon sibility, and we have signed and sealed, without any reservation and not merely ssa formality of a deed, and declaring null and void and of no effect, anything to the contrary as not truth and justice, and we have signed and scaled our names
