Referring to the future of British music, Dr. Terry said we ought not to forget that at one time we were the firsă musical nation Ain Europe, both as regarily the artistic merit of the works written and the amazi ing"" bechnique-" shown by the musicians themselves. The one thing that struck him in considering those works of the past was that they were not antiquarian curiosities at all, but real live music, which had been allowed to lie in museums and libraries, and because of that were regarded as being antiquated.
