Mr. Humphrey Bishop is here now, with a repertoire which makes a wider appeal to the general public. A the Victoria Theatre last night the fret part of the programme was devoted to excerpts from the opera Trovatore and the second part to vaudeville The mort appealing item in the operatio part of the programme was the singing of Miss Marcelene, Boulais, who has an exception ally fine soprano voice. PRAYER BOOK REVISION.
THE COMMUNION OFFICE.
Tht recently published report of the Committee consisting of two archbishops, with bishops and clergy representing the different schools of thought in the Church of England, as well as of several liturgi- cal scholars, affords ground for hoping that at last a general agreement may be attained in the two Convocations with regard to the Communion Office in the revised Prayer-book. Last May the Com mittee by a large majority decided, on the motion of the Bishop of Ripon, seconded by Dr. W. H, Frere, to accept the four following proposals :----
That the Prayer of Oblation be not moved from its present position.
2-That the Frayer of Humble Access be moved so as to follow immediately after the Comfortable Words.
3That the Lord's Prayer be placed mediately before the Communion. after
the Prayer of Consecration and im.
4.That the Words of Institution be followed by an Act of Remembrance, an Act of Thanksgiving, and a Prayer for the Holy Spirit, plea
arranged, with the Initials as well as the Surnames, in strictly Aphabetical Order, that any as can be found instantly.
