Yesterday the students of the various schools had planned a procession which was to take in the Legation Quarter, Piace. Then happened an extraordinary thing. Suddenly an official of the Peki Police intervened. Although the Peking Policy have no jurisdiction within the lagation Quarter this man took apan himself the responsibility of counter- manding the authority given by Dr. Tenney on behalf of the Diplomatic Com mission and ordered the students to pro. ceed northwards, out of the Legation Quarter.
