POST OFFICE NOTICE.

TASTER HOLIDAYS.

THE HONGKONG DAILY PRESS, TUESDAY, APRIL SED, 1917.

Good Friday, the 6th, Saturday, the 7th, and Monday, the 9tb, being General Holidays, the Post Office will be open on those days from 8 to 9 a.m.

There will be one deliv ry of ordinary correspondence and one collection from the Pillar Boxes on each do'

The Money Order Office will be entirely closed during the Holidays.

There will be one special delivery of R tired correspon dence on each day, at 9 a.m.

The public are informed that the undermentioned articles are prohibited from importation into the United Kingdom either by letter post or by parcel post

Gold manufactured or unmanufactured, including Gold Coin, and articles consisting partly of or containing gold.

All manufactures of Silver other than Silver Watebes and Silver Watch Cases; Jewellery of any description.

Letters and Parcels containing such articles cannot therefore be accepted for transmission by the Post Office.

The new regulations adopted by the French Customs insist that senders of parcels addressed to France, Corsica and Algeria must All in the columns of the regular Customs Declaration particularly and exactly, omitting nene of the headings comprised therein.

It is furthermore absolutely necessary to show in the aforesaid declaration --

(1) The full name and address of the addressée.

(2) A Statement as to whether the contents are intended for State supplies or not.

Particulars of outgoing and incoming Mails, other than those Blown below, will not be adverti-ed in future.

The Post Office will forward all correspondence posted by the fastest routes.

Correspondence addressed to enemy subjects in China, Siam, Liberia, Portuguese East Africa, Persia and Morocco cannot be transmitted.

The Berrices to Germany, Austria, Bulgaria and the Ottoman Empire are suspended,
