A letter in which a number of points were raised regarding the trade of the Far East, was recently sent by the Board of Trade to the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation. The committee of the Penang Chamber of Commerce sent the replies given below to the questions raised. They are of considerable interest (says the N.-C.
