The ten market was opened here on the 12th inst. This was about three weeks later than last year, owing to exceptionally cool weather and lack of rain during the tail end of winter, also, incidentally, to the Exhibition. Prices are from 3 to Si per picul higher than this time last year in consequence of the increased cost of packing materials such as wood lead and paper, Freight rates, too, are abnor mally high.
