The communiqué admits a Ypres, but says that the battle continues. The British atlack near La Basse was made by four Divisions against the West phalians, who were reinforced by the Prussian Guard.
Fighting is also proceeding between the Oise and the Aisne, and the report says that the French attempted to break. through the Vosges in the valleys of the Fecht and Lauch.
Fighting continues north west of Metzeral, and the communiqué claims in Bailte, in Galicia, some progress west- ward of Lemberg, but admits Russian successes between the Dneister Marshes and Zurawno.
