POST OFFICE NOTICE.

SHIPS' LETTER BOXES.

THE HONGKONG DAILY PRESS, THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 17TH, 1914,

1.—It is hereby notifed thst during the continuace of the War all outgoing correspondence

must be posted at the General Post Office er at sny of its Branch Ofiosk. 2.Ship' Officers are striotly forbidden to receive on board their vessels any correspondence

from the Patlic.

- Slipmarters ie not allowed to place or expore on board their vessels lefter boxes for the partase of cellecbig correspondence; all such boxes found expoad on board their Vessels will be móvel and returned to the General Post Office.

4. Shipping Companies must not receive from the Public for inclusion in their ships Papers any but bona fido Consignees' lekters which should be left open for inspection when required.

5-Shipping Companies should state in their notißestions to the Post Office the onset hour of departure of their vessels in order that the public may have every facility for posting at the General Post Office.

6. Shipping Companies and Ships' Officers wust send to the Post Office ALL correspondence except bona fide Consigness' letters posted in the Ships Letter Boxes or received by Ship Officers at the ports from which they sailed, or anywhere en route to Hongkong. -The above regulations will not affect the licensed Private Letter Boxes carried between Hongkong and Conton by the vessels belonging to or managed by the Hongkong, Canton and Maono Steamboat Co.

The Parcel Post service to Egypt and countries beyond is for the present suspended.
