ONE YEAR.

Mr. Arthur Chapman, the Assessor, in his report on the assessment for the year 1914-1915. says:

By order of His Excellency the Governor-in-Council, I have made a new valuation of the whole Colony, with the exception of some of the outlying small Chinese Village the new valuation is that the Rateable Valun of the whole Colony has increased from $12,435,812 to $14,410,108, an addition of $1,974,291 or 15.87 per cent.

The City of Victoria. The Rateable Value has increased from $10,236,737 ia $11,245,570, an addition of 81,708,833 or 10.69 per cent.

The Hill District The Rateable Value has increased from $298,865 to $322,565, an addition of 823,700 or 7.93 per cent.

Shaukiwan, Saiwanha. and Quarry By-The Rateable Value has increased from $370,040 to 8377,032, an addition of $6,002 or 1,88 per cent..

Hongkong Fillages. The Rateable Value has increased from $133,413 to $184,914, an addition of 831,501 or 23.01 per cent.
