The report of the Board of Directors for the year ending 31st December · list Says:-

After paying running expenses, salaries, premia of insurance, repairs, an interim dividend of $80,000 and all other charges remains, including $22,845.88 brought forward from last account, the sum of 8197,827.75 at credit of proât and loss account. From this amount the directors recommend that a final dividend for the year of one dollar per share or 380,000 be paid to shareholders, 800,000 be written off the book value of steamers and wharves, $80,000 be transferred to credit of special repairs fund, leaving a balance of 827,827.76 to be carried forward to new account.

There is nothing of special interest to report in connection with the working of the stoamers. The usual overhauls and repairs have been effected during the year and the steamers are all in good running order,
