A PREDICTED SPECIFIC.
The most potent drug now known is acknowledged to be salvarsan, or 608," the sensational product of synthetical. chemistry brought out three yours ago. This has proven of great value in many infective diseases, but has not fully realized the hope of Prof. Paul Ehrlich, its inventor. His dream, as announced. at the Inte International Congress of Medicine, is to obtain a complete radical cure for all gerin diseases. Substances are available now, that would destroy the parasites, but they would also kill the patient; and the problem is to discover the powerful universal bactericide that will be harmless to the patient. Startling. as is the expectation, Prof. Ehrlich believes that the specific for this great class of diseases will be found. His achievements have placed him in the
frons raak of medical authoritics, and his expectations are based on wido experience.
