Coles Lodge, generously provided by Dr. J. Ackerman Coles, of New York, in memory of his father, Dr Abram Coles, as the residence of the College physician, bas been under 100f for everal montiza." and only the finishing touches on the.. interior are now needed before Dr. Woods and family may niove it. In the con- struction of this homeo, advantage bas been fully taken of past experience and overal novel features introduced. The result is not only a handsome but an exceedingly well-adapted house.

The two cottages which form the beginning of the village to be occupied by Chinese connected with the College are Snished, end are so attractive that several more applications for similar houses have already been made. This village will probably have a rapid growth and will b of great value as an object lesson.

On October 13th ground was broken, for the foundations of Dean Chung's new residence, provided by Mrs. T. B. Black- stone, of Chicago. A nevel feature of this house is its L-shape with the angle between the two sections opening toward the quarter from which the breezes prevail. in summer so that every bed-room receives a maximum of air.

Work on the building, for the Students Y.M.C.A., which Mr. Ambrose Swasey, of Cleveland, has provided, began on October gath. It is proposed to have it ready for use in the fall of 1914.

Grant Hall, the gift of Mis: John S. Kennedy, of New York, has also been begun, bat owing to the nature of the work progress will be slower. It ought, however, to be ready to house the "Administration" carly in 1915.

The simultaneous crection of these three itaportant buildings is of course keeping the building department extremely husy.
