The committee which had the duty of administering the fund collected at the Mansion House for the widows and dopen- 'dents of those who lost their lives in the Captain Scott Expedition issued its report on July 9th, as follows:---
Owing to the great liberality of the public, not only at home, but in India, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, und other parts of the Empire, the large sum of £75,000 has been placed at the disposal of the committee for the various objects | for which the fund was raised, which included (a) Relief for the families of the deceased, in supplement to the provi sion made by the Government; (b)] discharge of the liabilities of the expedi tion; (e) publication of the scientific results; (d) the erection of a suitable memorial or memoriala.
The Government have decided to ask Parliament to sanction a special vote suficient to provide for Lady Scott (in) addition to the Admiralty Pension of $200 a year for herself and £25 a year for her son until he reaches the age of eigh- teen) annuity of £100; for Mrs. Scott, the mother, and Mrs. Campbell and Miss Grace Scott, the sisters of Captain Scott, a joint annuity of £300; for Mrs. Wilson, the widow of Dr. E. A. Wilson, an annuity of £300; for Mrs. Evans, tho. widow of Petty Officer Edgar Evans (in) addition to the pension and allowances awarded to her by the Admiralty amount- ing to 12s. 6d. a week), a further annuity of 12s. 6d, a week for herself, and 38, a week for each of her three children up to the age of eighteen; for Mra, Bowers, the mother, and the two sisters of Lieutenant Bowers, the Indian Government, in whose service he was, provide a pension of £100
per annum.

CHINESE IMMIGRANTS INTO MALAYA.
