Brain Fag, Nervous Exhaustion-
Just a change of opinion was enough to give Mr. W. King his present prosperity, for he realised in the nick of time that hit way was not caring bis brain fag and nervous exhaustion, so he tried the Phosferine way. Mr. King's method was to ignore his despondency and feeling of collapse, and persuade himself there was nothing unusual in the painful fatigue the lightest effort to work cost him, until, as he steadily got worse, the resolved to drop his own opinion and see what Phosferine could do. The result was so astonishingly beneficial, even after a few doses, that the brain fag and nervous exhaustion cersed entirely, enabling him to. do more work than before and yet not feel the strain, This remarkable advantage is seen in the extraordinary energy and vigour of Mr. King's public speaking, and so amazingly have his prospects Improved since his speedy recovery, that he declares he had to come forward with the Evidence of the magnificent benefit he derived from Phosferine.
Quite Gone- Never Return.
J
Mr. W. King, School House, Trumpington Rd., Forest Gate, London, , writes am writing to add my name to the list of those people who have found Phosferine to be the Greatest of all Tonics. Some time back I was very much ran down through overstrain brought on by incessant bodily exercise and mental application. The usual tendency of mankind is to give up some of their work, have a rest, and at the same time take medicine, so I endeavoured to keep going on without seeking advice, but as I was gating worse I found that policy would not do. Having heard many friends speak about Phosferine, and one in particular offering me Bomb, I decided to give it a trial. Purchasing a 276 bottle, I began to Hoctor myself. The result not only astonished me, but others also noticed how much better I was, even although I had only taken a few doses. I found I could do the same amount of work easier, and at present am able to do more than before and yet not feel the strain. I have a good deal of public speaking, and I find an occasional dose of Phosferine is a great benefit."—May 28, 1912,

DRESS AT TRE OPENA,
The present brilliant opera season is an object lesson in evening-dress, and in | conjunction will last week's Court, proves that the all-round low bodice has now disappeared, most probably for many and many a long year. Anyone wearing an evening gown off the shoulders would be regarded as hopelessly old fashioned, and equally behind the times. would be the verdict on even those who wen't tho décolleté just above the shoulders. The proper line for the pre- sent mode is that which makes the décolleté heart-shaped in front and at the back, the folds of the gown taking the form defined by the bretelle, and falling over or forming the sleeves. This is one of the most obvious points of difference between the dress of the present reign and that which prevailed during the Victorian. era, and for at least half of the late Ki08 Edward's reign.
KOW PEARLS ARE WORN.
The sensible always content to do so. woman decides to give up dancing, leaving it to the young girls who are always coming on in new battalions, and whose gout' ful freshness emphasises tha faded looks of others. It is a tragedy in its way, but one which every woman, and, in fact, every pan, has to experience. Philosophy must be called to face the situation, and it may be some consolation to know that it becomes lesa acute an years go on. *.
SPORTS AND GAMES.
Girls are getting ready for the sports season, thinking of new tennis frocks, boating suits, even cricket costumes. Viyella is a favourite material for these, because it does not shrink. Some of the new colours are very pretty, among them
soft pale grey and an Eton blue striped with a rather darker, shade. The inora simple these gowns and blouses are made the more suitable they are for exercise. It is noticeable that the normal waist ja invariably in fashion for sports. Who- ever saw a golfing girl in an Empire gown?

Some of these are remarkably becoming for instance, that which places a flat floral hand or gauze ribbon. across the hair above the brow, and, fastening a pearl necklace to this, allows it to pass under the chin.. Sometimes a diamond ornament marks the conjunction of flowers and pearls. It is nothing new to see pearls interwoven with the hair, but it is certainly a novelty to wear a string diagonally across the top of the head, one end terminating in a tassel of fine pearls at the back, the other in a pendant on the left side of the forehead. Even this becomes almost admirable when worn by a beautiful woman with a well-shaped head, and it must be remembered that the shape of the heal is now very clearly defined by the close fashion of the coiffure. One lady at the Opera had not only splendid necklace of pearls in the legit mate place, but one fastened terass her bodice from shoulder to waist, and another worn as a double bracelet above the elbow. How it escaped slipping down the arm is a mystery known only to the wearer, who presented a suggestion of Eastern splendour in the wearing, of quantities of diamonds in addition to her. pearls.

The novelty of the season in coats is the binding of braid, sometimes similar in tint to the coat itself, but more often contrasting in black or dark tones. The black silk coat is still to the fore, and with a skirt trimmed to match makes a useful costume for almost any occasion, It is a mistake to suppose that silk is cool wear; on the contrary, being a non-con- ductor, this material keeps the wearer very hot, and should be avoided on aultry days.
A WATCH ON THE SHOE.
Other things have been tried, such as rubber and cocos, but they have not been successful. All the islands, with but few exceptions, such as Kusaie, Ponape, and one or two others, are coralline. A Japanese invasion had, eet in, and was causing a little consern to the white population, who wondered whether the day was approaching when the Japanese would overrun the place. There were already about 30 Japanese traders in the Carolines, and one or two of them had The started business as boatbuilders. Government had not interfered so far, and he could not say whether they ever would. It was not German policy to shut out foreigners. There were no restric fiona put on British people, or any other non-Germans. There were between 20 and 30 Europeans at Ponape, and they got most of their provisious-dour, meat, biscuits, etc from Sydney: His firm was getting a schooner built at Jervis Bay. It did more business with Australia than it did with Germany.
"The population of the group, Mr. Peterson said, was about 30,000. They were: indolent natives, like the rest of the islanders, but were successfully resisting the general decrease of Pacific races.
The proper place to wear the watch is no longer on the wrist, but in the toe cap of the shoe. This is convenient enough. One has only to glance down to discover the time. But the idea for some reason does not appeal to one at first sight. The poor little watch is in this way subjected to considerable risk. Where is the man or, woman who has not at one time or another experienced the sensation of heel crushing down on the toe of the Foot? If such an inmune individual exists, he or she may be congratulated on having cscaped a disagreeable expérience. Scattered throughout the group, notably at Ponape and Lel, Mr. Peterson added, were massive ruins, one of a sort of Venice, whose origin was wrapped in mystery.
