It is really remarkable that
no one seems to have been struck by the fact that, in spite of the regular daily cleansing with tooth. soaps, and pastes, the teeth, and particularly, the back teeth, frequently become decayed and hollow. Is not that a convincing proof that tooth. soaps and tooth-pastes are entirely inadequate for the purpose? Our teeth are not so obliging as to decay only in places where
we cat cou-
veniently reach them with the
toothbrush.
On the contrary,
is just in those localities which are
difheult of access, such as the backs of the molar teeth, the interstices between the teeth, hollows and cracks, that the decay and destruction of the teeth appear most frequently, and are most likely to occur. În consequence, if anyone wishes to preserve his teeth intact that is to say, to keep them healthy, this can be effected in one way only by daily cleansing and riosing the month and teeth with the antiseptic dentifrice Odol,
During
the process of rinsing, this preparation pestrates everywhere, reaching slike the hollows in the teeth. the interstices between them, and the backs of the molars. Odol destroys the microbes and arrests all bacterial and fermenta- tion processes which attack the teeth.

DARK NEUCLAE.
Absolutely dark spaces among the stars have puzzled astronomers since the time of Herrchel. To Milky Way photographs. Dr. Kepil has noticed an almost complett absence of faint stars immediately around certain rebulan, with an abundance of sach stars within the nebulte and far out- side. A late suggestion by Rev. T. E. Espin is that the margins of such nebulae may be too diffuse to become illuminated and yet dense enough to absorb light. If such an assumption is made, he finds that it explains not only the blank sur rounding spaces but the dark holes and Janes within the bright nebulae.
