“And you must take Sanatogen regularly for
several weeks!
This urgent advic is given by physicians every day, In every civilised country, to sufferers from Nervous Debility, Brain-fag, Lack of Vitality, Sleeplessness, Disordered Digestion, Poverty es Blood and various Wasting Diseases.
Physicians know that Sanatogen is a true sclentific compound of orgauic phosphorus and pure concen- trated proteid, forming a new substance which is eagerly and completely absorbed by the tissues and possesses unique toile and reconstructive qualities.
The Supreme Restorative.
Physicians can speak from experience of the great recuperative effects which Sanatogen has upon the braiu, nerves, blood and muscles. They have watched its revivifying action upon people whose nervous strength has been depleted by over-work, worry or disease. They have noted how Sanatogen gives lasting benefit, how it regenerates the appetite and digestion, brings back the bloom to the cheek, replaces wakeful nights by sound refreshing sleep-- in short, enables the human machinery to perform its functions so perfectly that the patient loses his depression of spirits, gains confidence and courage, and finds life again worth living.

Fighting Malaria and Dysentery.
Apart from its value as a general tonic, Sanato- gen is of the greatest service to the physician in fighting Malaria, Dysentery and other scourges of tropical climates.
On this subject, Dr. H. H. W. H., of Babu- garah, United Provinces, writes:-"I have much pleasure in certifying to the value of Sanatogen in cases of Dysentery, Enteric Fever and other exhausting discases. I have used, it regularly in my practice for the past two years, and in no single instance have I bren disappointed with its results. I can honestly affirm that many of my worst cases owe their recovery to Sanatogen."
Try Sanatogen To-day.........
At the head offices of the manufacturers of Sanatogen there are Bled more than fourteen thousand letters from practising physicians who certify to the value of Sanatogen. Truly a magnifoxt monument to the value of this unique tonic-food?
But no lers impressive is the enthusiastic testimony of patients themselve
Thousands of well-known people in every walk of life are pablicly testified to the wonderful benefits they have received from Senatogen, sud a few of their letters are reproduced here.

I hope that these few experiences may bring others in their train from other players, when an interesting chapter on bridge will have been added to the literature on the game: Many people, I find, are still very chary of calling a light no trumper, They want something very substantial before trying their lack in this direction, and as a consequener their no trump calls are few and far between. These are the sort of peuple who cannot understand how it in that they lose with such persist ent regularity, and as a consequence blame the cards instead of their own de plorable short-sighted policy. Earlier in the game there had naturally been a considerable amount of cross-trumping.

Dummy, the most extraordinary part of the whole business was that the dealer hold a perfectly legitimato no trumper. Of course, the grand slam was set fromtations in the Philippines and Formosa during the prevalence of typhoons in the neighbourhood of those areas. The mese ages se forwarded were comparatively few in number owing to the breakdown of land telegraph lines at these times. The interruption of telegraphic communi- cation on such occasions is a serious handicap to all those engaged in the tark of issuing storm-warnings, but it is un- derstood that wireless apparatus will be installed at some important outlying. stations in the Philippines in the near future, and the Chinese Government has promised to erect such a station at Pratas Shoal.
After the Lord Mayor's Show often come less happy results. Here iura record which has fallen to my unlucky lot, and which will take a lot of beating. In two successive rubbers I have had the honour of winning and the pleasure of paying out, paying separately on each one of them. Of course, everyone has at some time or another won a rubber and had to pay on it; but probably very few have enjoyed that experiener in conscentive rubbers, and lived to tell the tale. It is a record I am rather proud of.
Another of my painful experiences is to have lost two consecutive love rubbers. For two whole rubbers neither my part ner nor I scored a single point above or helow the line. But in my case the agony was considerably prolonged, inasmuch as the one rubber ran into as many as eight hands. Of course, the couple we were up against were far from being strong players; but twas ever this,"
as ult bridge players will testify.
It is surprising how many players who know the conventions observe and yet do not observe them. I mean that most players know the "eleven rule, and the discard from strength or weakness, and such formule. Indeed, they go so far as to put these conventions into practice themselves, yet never take the trouble to notice what their partner is discarding, er to profit by the information his lead nay give to the play of a no trumper. Such forgetfulness leads to many a post- morteza.
****A CATASTROPHE
I don't think I ever remember seeing a hand more properly cooked" than by a partner of mine. His mistake cost me a matter of 523 points, and yet there was no redoubling. On the face of it, this seems rather a tall order, so I will proceed to demonstrate the position. My partner played the heart convention, and at the commencement of the game had satisfied himself that I also would play the same convention in case of a double to no tramps. Each side had won a game the score being "love all" in the decid- ing game, when as third player, I picked up a string of six winning hearts, and promptly doubled the uo trumps declara- tion of the 'dealer.

My partner, unfortunately, as things turned out, held ace, queen, knave to six clubs, and losing his head (instead of giving me a heart, and he held three little ones), led, off with his queen of clubs. The dealer, holding the bare king of that suit, made it, and followed on with eleven more tricks, culled from his dia- monds and spades, and went to game and Had my rubber with the little alam. partner given me a heart, as he ought to have done, we should have made the little. slam on our hearts and clubs, for I could not have failed to find bis suit after making my hearts.
