HINTS TO DECORATORS

FOR USING

Hall's Sanitary

Washable Distemper.

To Mix for use, add shout one piet of water to 5 lbs. of Distemper and stir the consistency n a good thick cream. (The quintiles are only approximate and judgment musite exercised in the mixing) If the Dateret er las Lecome stiff, hot water should be used, as it mixes more readily.

Whiting or Lime should le wared of the walls or ceiling before applying the Distemper. Wall papers may le painted without removing them, if the pattern is not too prominent and if the paper contotas no gold, but two ecate will prgfaldy be required.

When walls are very porous or repaired, causing too much crunequal suction, we recommend a zont of size before using the Distemper. This prevents suction, and the Distemper, when dry, is more washable than it otherwise while. For very damp while give a flow cost of "SIECÓ" Damp Resister, also apply this to all damp patches and to places where the lime or salt is werking through the plaster.

White Jigemper No. 6 is made for silings and is nel quite so washable as the other colours. When necessary to lighten any of the alaude, Cream, (No. 17) should Le used for mixing instead of white.. Dry colours must not be used for altering the shades, 16 they take away the binding properties of the Distemper and do not mir evenly.

Ail senden marked by the side of the numbers in Colour. Book and on the show-cards, many bù used for now plastered wall. Any other abades should not be pred on dep plaster.

The Distemper should not be mixed too thinly, one cost in usually sufficient even on cow work, and will give a result equal to two coats of oil paint-

Three weeks after application, but not before, the Print can be washed. This operation should

be done with a sponge weited with tepid water and passed gently over the wall.
