HINTS TO DECORATORS

FOR USING

Hall's Sanitary Washable Distemper.

To Mix for use, add shout oue pint of water to & lle, of Distemper and air to the consistency of n good thick steam (These quantities are only approximate nad judgment must be exercised in the mizing) If the Distemp or has become stiff, het water should be used, es it mixes more readily

Waiting or Lime should be washed off the walls or celling before applying the Distemper. Wall papers may be painted without removing them, if the pattern is not too prominent and if the paper notairs no gold, bau two cents will probably Le required.

When walls are very porous or sealed, using too much er unequal suction, we recommend cozi of size Lofore using the Distemper. This prevente suction, and the Distemper, when dry, is more Weshable than it otherwise would te. For very damp walls give a first cost of "SISCO" Damp Resister, lo apply thle to all damp patches and to places led the lime or salt is werking through the plaster.

White Distempur No. 6 is made for ceilings and is not quite so washable as the other color. When necessary to ligaen any of the shade, Crem. (No. 17) should be used for mixing instead of white. Dry colours must not be used for altering the shades, as they take away the Huding pageries of -the Distemper and do not mix svenly.

All shades marked by the side of the Dumbers in Colour Book and on the show-cards, may be used for new plastered wall. Any other aludes should not be used on damp plaster.

The Distemper should not be thixed too thinly, une ecat is usually sufficient even on row work, and will give a result equal to two coats of oil paint.

Three weeks after application, but not before, the Paint can be washed. This operation, shoold -be done with a spongo wetted with tepid unter and passed gently orer the wail.
