FOR USING

Hall's Sanitary Washable Distemper.

To Mix for use, ndd about one pint of water to 5 lbs of Distemper and stir to the consistency o a good thick cream. (There quantilies are only approximate and judgment must be exercised in the mixing.) If the Distemper has become stiff, hot water should be cod, as it mixes more readily

Whiting or Lime should be washed off the walls or ceiling before applying the Distemper. Wall papers may be painted without removing them, if the pattern is not too prominent and if the paper contaits no gold, but two ca's will probably be required,

When walls are very purons or repaired, causing too much or unequal mction, we recommend a wat of size before using the Distemper. This prevenis suction, and the Distemper, when dry, is mere washable than it otherwise woud be. For very damp walls give a first ant of "SISCO" Dam Resister, also apply this to all danp patches and to places where the lime or salt is werking through The plaster.

White Distemper No. d'is made for ceilings and is not quite so washable sa the other colours, When neccesary to lighten any of the shade, Cream, (No. 17) should be used for mixing instead of white. Dry colours must not be used for altering the shades, as they take away the binding properties of the Distemper and do not mix evenly.

All af des marked by the side of the numbers in Colour Book and on the show-cards, may be el for new plastered walk. Any other shales should not ie used on damp plaster.

The Distemper alsould not be mixed 100 thinly, one at is usually sufficient even on new work, and will give a result equal to two coats of oil palat

Three weeks after application, but not before, the Fat can be washed. This operation should be done with a sponge walled with topid water and passed gently over the wall
